Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 9, 2026·Version: 1.5
This Privacy Policy explains how See You There LLC, d/b/a Find Your People ("FYP," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the FYP website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy. This Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.
Cross-app tracking (Apple iOS). FYP does not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompts to ask permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites for advertising. The FYP app uses Sign in with Apple and Google sign-in; we do not integrate third-party advertising SDKs that track you across apps for ad targeting. We may still collect and use information described in this Policy for security, fraud prevention, notifications, payments, and first-party operation of the Service.
FYP is intended only for users who are at least 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to information we collect through the Service. It does not apply to third-party websites, products, or services, even if they are linked from or integrate with the Service. Each third party has its own privacy practices, which we do not control.
FYP is currently available only to users in the United States and other non-EU countries. Users accessing FYP from the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland are not permitted to create accounts. We comply with applicable data protection laws for users in supported regions.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
We collect information you submit directly to us, including:
- Account information — your name, email address, mobile phone number, password, and (where you provide it) date of birth and profile photo;
- Profile and event content — event titles, descriptions, dates, locations, photos, RSVP responses, comments, messages to other users, and any other content you create or share through the Service;
- Payment information — FYP does not process, receive, or hold ticket payments. Paid-event transactions occur directly between you (the Guest) and the Host's Stripe-connected account. You provide payment-card information directly to Stripe through Stripe-hosted forms, and Stripe processes the charge on behalf of the Host, who is the merchant of record. FYP receives only transaction metadata (transaction identifier, status, amount, refund/chargeback status) for record-keeping. Refunds, chargebacks, and disputes about ticket payments are handled through the Host's Stripe account. FYP charges no platform fee on ticket transactions;
- Communications — messages you send to us through support, feedback, surveys, or social-media channels;
- Imported contacts — if you choose to import contacts to invite people to an event, the names, phone numbers, or email addresses of those contacts.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Service, we automatically collect:
- Device and connection information — device type, operating system, browser type, mobile network, app version, IP address, device identifiers, and crash logs;
- Usage information — pages and screens viewed, features used, search queries, RSVPs, clicks, scroll behavior, time spent, and referral source;
- Cookies and similar technologies — small data files placed on your device. See Section 5 for details;
- Session replay and screen recording — we use screen-recording technology (currently UXCam) to capture screen layout, taps, and navigation flows within the app to debug UX issues and improve the Service. Session replays may show on-screen content. We apply masking to sensitive screens (login, profile edit, sign-in method, chat threads, checkout, and account settings) so text and personal information in those areas are obscured. Recordings do not access your device's camera, microphone, or photo library, and are not used for advertising or shared with third parties beyond our service provider.
2.3 Location Information
We may collect approximate (city- or region-level) location information based on your IP address. With your permission, we may also collect more precise location information from your device to help you find events near you, recommend events, and verify your check-in to events. You can disable precise-location access at any time through your device settings; doing so will limit features that depend on it but will not otherwise prevent you from using the Service.
2.4 Information from Third Parties
We may receive information about you from third parties, including: payment processors (Stripe) about transaction status, refunds, chargebacks, and fraud signals (including early-fraud-warning notifications and Stripe Radar risk scores, which we use to prevent unauthorized transactions and may rely on to issue preemptive refunds); identity-verification or fraud-prevention vendors; analytics providers; SMS and email delivery vendors; and other users (for example, if a Host invites you to an event).
2.5 Content Involving Other People
User-uploaded content (such as event photos, videos, or invite lists) may include images, names, contact information, or other information about people other than you. The user who uploads the content is solely responsible for obtaining any consents or permissions required by law before sharing it through the Service. If you believe content on the Service includes your information without your permission, please contact us at support@findyourpeople.co.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service, including hosting, processing transactions, and routing communications;
- Verify your identity, prevent fraud, enforce our Terms, and protect the safety, integrity, and rights of the Service and its users;
- Communicate with you — send transactional messages (account, payment, RSVP confirmations), service updates, security alerts, and, if you opt in, marketing or promotional communications;
- Personalize your experience — recommend events, surface relevant content, and customize the Service based on your activity, preferences, and location;
- Conduct analytics and research — understand how the Service is used, measure performance, and develop new features;
- Comply with law — respond to subpoenas, court orders, regulatory requests, and other legal obligations; protect our and others' legal rights; and enforce contracts.
4. How We Share Information
4.1 With Other Users
FYP is a social platform. Information you share through your profile, public events, comments, and RSVPs is visible to other users in accordance with the visibility settings you choose. When you RSVP to or attend an event, the Host can see information you provide, including your name, profile photo, RSVP response, and any answers to registration questions. Hosts may use that information to communicate with you about the event and may export attendee lists.
Hosts as independent controllers. Hosts who collect information about Guests through the Service — including through custom registration questions, attendee exports, or off-platform communications — are independently responsible for that information and have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. When a Host obtains your information through the Service, the Host is acting as an independent data controller for purposes of that information. Questions about how a Host uses your information should be directed to the Host.
4.2 With Service Providers
We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, subject to confidentiality obligations and a requirement that they use the information only for the purposes we direct. Categories include:
- Payment processing — Stripe processes ticket payments directly on behalf of Hosts. Hosts are the merchant of record for their ticket sales and are responsible for chargebacks, refunds, applicable tax reporting, and Stripe processing fees related to their transactions. FYP does not receive or hold ticket funds and receives only transaction metadata for record-keeping;
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure — cloud providers that host our application, databases, and backups;
- Communications — email and SMS delivery vendors, push-notification services, and customer-support tools;
- Product analytics — Google Firebase Analytics for in-app event tracking (screens viewed, features used, sign-in and RSVP outcomes) and crash reporting (currently Sentry). These providers receive a unique account identifier tied to your FYP account (not your email or phone), device and app metadata, and usage events. See Firebase's and Sentry's privacy notices for how they process this information as our service providers;
- Session replay — UXCam for session-replay debugging of the app interface. UXCam receives the same unique account identifier, device metadata, and interaction events described above, along with visual replays of masked app screens. See UXCam's privacy notice for how they process this information as our service provider;
- Identity verification, fraud prevention, and security — vendors that help us detect bots, spam, and abusive accounts.
4.3 For Legal Reasons
We may share information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to (a) comply with applicable law or legal process (subpoenas, court orders, regulatory requests); (b) enforce our Terms of Service or this Policy; (c) detect, investigate, or prevent fraud, security issues, or violations of law; or (d) protect the rights, property, or safety of FYP, our users, or the public.
4.4 Business Transactions
If FYP is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, sale of all or substantially all of our assets, or similar transaction, we may transfer information as part of the transaction, subject to commercially reasonable confidentiality protections.
4.5 With Your Direction or Consent
We share information with third parties when you direct us to or otherwise consent, including when you choose to integrate FYP with another service.
4.6 Aggregate or De-Identified Data
We may share aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you for any business purpose, including research, analytics, marketing, and product development. We commit to maintaining and using this information in de-identified form and not to attempt to re-identify it, except as permitted by law.
4.7 We Do Not Sell Personal Information
FYP does not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If this changes, we will update this Policy and provide the opt-outs required by applicable law.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, web beacons, SDKs, and similar technologies ("cookies") to operate the Service, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, prevent fraud, measure usage, and improve performance. We use:
- Strictly necessary cookies — required for the Service to function (for example, authentication and security);
- Functional cookies — remember your choices and personalize your experience;
- Analytics cookies — help us understand how the Service is used and how to improve it.
We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can manage cookies through your browser or device settings; disabling cookies may affect Service functionality.
Do Not Track. Because there is no consistent industry standard for Do Not Track signals, we do not currently respond to them. We do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required by law as a request to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Your Choices
6.1 Account Information
You can review and update your account and profile information at any time in your in-app settings. You may delete your account through the in-app delete-account control or by emailing support@findyourpeople.co.
6.2 Marketing Communications
You can opt out of marketing emails by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing message or by adjusting your in-app notification settings. Even after opting out of marketing communications, we may still send you transactional and service-related messages.
6.3 SMS Messages
If you have opted in to SMS, you can stop receiving messages by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help. Standard message and data rates may apply.
6.4 Push Notifications and Location
You can disable push notifications and location services for the FYP app at any time through your device settings.
6.5 Cookies
Most browsers allow you to view, manage, or delete cookies. Note that disabling certain cookies may degrade Service functionality.
6.6 Public Information
Information you make public on the Service — such as a public profile, a public event listing, or comments on a public event — is visible to anyone, including users who are not logged in and people who are not registered with FYP, and may be indexed by search engines and other third parties. Once content has been made public, copies may persist on the internet even after you remove the original. You can adjust the visibility of your profile, your events, and your activity in your in-app privacy settings.
7. U.S. State Privacy Rights
Residents of certain U.S. states (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Utah, Oregon, Montana, and others as state laws come into effect) have specific privacy rights under their state's law. This Section describes those rights and how to exercise them.
7.1 Categories of Information We Collect
Within the past twelve (12) months, we have collected the following categories of personal information, as defined under California law:
- Identifiers — name, email, phone number, IP address, device identifiers, account ID;
- Customer-records information — name and contact information (payment-card and bank-account numbers are collected and stored by Stripe, not by FYP);
- Commercial information — transaction history, RSVP records;
- Internet or electronic-network activity — device, browser, and usage data, interactions with the Service;
- Geolocation — approximate location from IP and, with your permission, precise device location;
- Audio, visual, or similar information — photos and other media you upload;
- Inferences — derived from other information to predict preferences, interests, or characteristics for personalization;
- Sensitive personal information — we do not intentionally collect government identifiers, biometric data, precise geolocation (without your opt-in), racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, health information, sexual orientation, or contents of private communications as a separate category of sensitive information, except where users voluntarily include such information in profiles, event content, or messages.
7.2 Sources, Purposes, and Disclosures
We collect personal information from the sources described in Section 2 and use it for the purposes in Section 3. We disclose personal information only to the categories of recipients in Section 4. We have not sold personal information or shared personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the past twelve months.
7.3 Your Rights
Subject to applicable state law, you have the right to:
- Know and access — request information about, and a copy of, the personal information we have collected about you;
- Delete — request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, to complete transactions, comply with law, or detect fraud);
- Correct — request that we correct inaccurate personal information;
- Portability — receive your personal information in a portable, structured format;
- Opt out — of sale or sharing of personal information, of targeted advertising, and (in some states) of certain forms of profiling that produce legal or similarly significant effects. As stated above, FYP does not currently sell personal information or share for cross-context behavioral advertising;
- Limit use of sensitive personal information — to purposes specified by law;
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny service, charge different prices, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised your privacy rights;
- Appeal — if we deny your request, you may appeal in states that provide an appeal right (such as Virginia, Colorado, and Connecticut) by emailing support@findyourpeople.co with the subject "Privacy Appeal."
7.4 How to Exercise Your Rights
To exercise any of the rights above, email support@findyourpeople.co with your request and the state in which you reside, or use the in-app privacy controls. We may need to verify your identity before responding by asking you to confirm information associated with your account; we will not collect more information than necessary for verification.
7.5 Authorized Agents
You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will require written proof of the agent's authority and may require you to verify your own identity directly with us.
7.6 California "Shine the Light"
California residents may request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. As stated above, we do not disclose personal information for third-party direct marketing.
8. Data Retention and Account Deletion
8.1 Retention Periods
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations (including tax, accounting, anti-fraud, and anti-trafficking rules), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary by data type. When we no longer need personal information, we delete or de-identify it. We do not retain ticket payment records beyond the transaction metadata described in Section 2.1; payment records are held by Stripe and the Host's Stripe account under Stripe's retention policies.
8.2 Account Deletion
You can delete your account by selecting "Delete account" in settings or by emailing support@findyourpeople.co. After you initiate deletion, your account enters a thirty (30) day grace period during which you can cancel by signing in. After the grace period, we permanently delete or de-identify your personal information, except that we may retain (a) transactional, tax, and accounting records for the period required by law (typically up to seven years), (b) information necessary to enforce our Terms or pursue legal claims, (c) information needed to detect and prevent fraud or platform abuse, and (d) backups, which are overwritten on our standard backup-rotation schedule.
9. Data Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us. Please use a strong password, keep it confidential, and notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.
10. Children's Privacy
FYP is not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will delete it. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us with information, please contact us at support@findyourpeople.co.
11. Contact, Changes, and Notices
11.1 How to Contact Us
Questions or requests about this Policy or your information? Contact us at support@findyourpeople.co or See You There LLC, d/b/a Find Your People, 8 The Green, Suite A, Dover, DE 19901, Attn: Privacy.
11.2 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by email at least thirty (30) days before the changes take effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy indicates when it was last revised. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
