Community Guidelines

FYP is a platform for hosting and discovering events. These Guidelines describe what we expect from everyone who uses it. They are part of our Terms of Service and are binding on every user. The casual language is intentional — the goal is for you to actually read and follow them — but the rules are real and we enforce them.

1. Treat people with respect

FYP is a place to meet people and have a good time. That stops working the moment anyone is harassing or threatening anyone else.

You may not:

Harass, bully, threaten, intimidate, stalk, or dox another person;
Post hate speech or content targeting people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics;
Encourage, glorify, or organize violence against any person or group;
Engage in conduct that a reasonable person would find threatening or unsafe.

2. Be real about who you are and what you're hosting

If your event isn't what it says it is, people get burned and they don't come back.

You may not:

Impersonate another person, brand, business, or organization;
Provide false information when registering or hosting;
List events that you do not intend to actually run, or that materially differ from how they are described;
Misrepresent your age. If you misrepresent your age, your account will be terminated and any pending balances will be forfeited.

3. Keep events safe and legal

FYP is a platform — we don't run your event. The Host is responsible for what happens at it.

If you are hosting, you must:

Obtain all licenses, permits, and authorizations required by law (including liquor licenses where alcohol is served, and any special-event permits);
Accurately disclose any age limits, hazards, or regulated activities in the event listing;
Verify the identity and eligibility of attendees at the event;
Comply with applicable dram-shop, host-liability, over-service, and similar laws;
Refuse entry or service to anyone who does not meet legal or Host-imposed requirements.

FYP does not verify attendee age or eligibility. That is on the Host.

4. No illegal events or activities

Some of these are no-brainers. We list them anyway because the consequences for getting them wrong are severe.

You may not use the Service to organize, promote, advertise, or facilitate:

Sale or distribution of cannabis, CBD, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia, even where state-legal;
Sale or distribution of firearms, ammunition, explosives, or weapons;
Gambling, raffles, sweepstakes, lotteries, or money transmission;
Prostitution, escort services, sugar-dating, commercial sexual companionship, or any other exchange of sexual conduct for money or goods (a violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 1591 or 2421A or related state law);
Sex trafficking, forced labor, or any conduct that violates 18 U.S.C. § 1591 or related federal or state anti-trafficking laws;
Any other activity that violates federal, state, or local law.

Note on dating events: legitimate singles, mixers, and speed-dating events are welcome. The line is commercial sexual services, which we do not allow under any framing.

5. Keep content appropriate

Some content is off the platform regardless of context.

You may not post or share:

Sexually explicit content, pornography, or solicitation of sexual activity;
Gratuitous violence, gore, or content designed primarily to shock;
Any content that exploits, sexualizes, endangers, or depicts the abuse of a minor. We report this content to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and to law enforcement, without exception;
Another person's personal information (home address, phone, government ID, financial information) without that person's explicit permission;
Content that promotes self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders.

6. No spam, scams, or fraud

If your event or your message is designed to deceive someone or take their money under false pretenses, it doesn't belong here.

You may not:

Send unsolicited promotional or marketing communications to other users;
Operate a pyramid, ponzi, or chain-referral scheme through the Service;
Sell counterfeit, stolen, or pirated goods;
Use a payment instrument you are not authorized to use, or commit chargeback fraud (filing a chargeback for a charge you authorized, attended, or otherwise legitimately incurred is fraud and may result in account termination, forfeiture of pending balances, and legal action);
Manipulate the platform with fake accounts, fake RSVPs, fake reviews, automated activity, or coordinated inauthentic behavior.

7. Respect intellectual property

Don't use other people's stuff without permission.

You may not:

Post content (including text, images, photos, video, music, logos, or designs) that you do not own or do not have permission to use;
Use another party's trademarks, branding, or likeness without authorization;
Circumvent or remove copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices.

8. Photos and content about other people

Events are full of other people. Their face on FYP is not your call to make.

You must:

Have permission from each identifiable person before uploading photos, videos, or other content of them, where required by law or by their reasonable expectation;
Have legal authority and (where required) consent before importing or uploading another person's contact information for invitations or messaging;
Honor any request from a person depicted in your content who asks you to remove it. We will remove content where we determine the request is appropriate.

9. No scraping; no AI training on FYP data

FYP data isn't yours to take, and it isn't training data.

You may not:

Use bots, scrapers, crawlers, headless browsers, or any other automated means to access, copy, or extract data from the Service, except through publicly documented APIs in compliance with their terms;
Circumvent rate limits, robots.txt, CAPTCHAs, paywalls, or other technical or contractual access controls;
Use FYP data, content, or output to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or otherwise develop any AI or machine-learning model, except with our express written consent;
Sell, license, or republish FYP data to third parties.

Violations may give rise to claims under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, the Defend Trade Secrets Act, and related laws.

10. FYP is 18+

This is a platform for adults.

You agree that:

You are at least 18 years old. If you are not, you are not authorized to use FYP for any purpose;
You will not host events on FYP that are targeted at minors, that solicit attendance from minors, or that are likely to attract minors to the platform;
You will report any account or event you reasonably believe involves a minor to support@findyourpeople.co.

11. Report problems

Reporting is how we find what we can't see.

If you encounter content, conduct, or events that violate these Guidelines, report them through the in-app report flow or by emailing support@findyourpeople.co. We review every report.

If you or another person is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first, then report to FYP.

12. Enforcement

Here's what happens when the rules are broken.

FYP may, in its sole discretion and without prior notice:

Remove content or take down events;
Restrict, suspend, or permanently terminate your account;
Withhold or reverse payouts;
Ban you and any associated accounts from the Service;
Refer suspected illegal activity to law enforcement, regulators, or appropriate authorities;
Pursue any other remedy available at law or in equity, including injunctive relief and monetary damages.

Warnings are not required. Severe violations — including content involving minors, fraud, trafficking, or threats of violence — will result in immediate termination.

Appeals. If you believe an enforcement action was made in error, email support@findyourpeople.co with a description of the action and the facts you want us to consider. We review every appeal in good faith. Our decisions are final.

13. Changes to these Guidelines

These Guidelines evolve as the platform and the rules around it change.

We may update these Guidelines from time to time. The current version is always available on FYP. Material changes take effect when we post the updated version. Continuing to use FYP after a change means you accept the updated Guidelines.
